Got Rain?

Yesterday was the culmination of a very very tough week. It was just one of those weeks where JJ is going through his defiant 3's, daniel is cranky from cutting teeth, and Jchon has been sick. After a while, it just gets tough to keep being the "strong" one. I love pastor Mike's Blogs (see the link to the right), and he poignently wrote recently about Rephidim. He definately tells it better, but there is a story in the bible where the nation of ISreal is being led by God into the wildereness, and they stop in a place called Rephidim. This was very specifically a place with no water. Yet God brought 2 million people there...Of course you know what happened...they grumbled (as is our human nature). They wanted water- they whined about God saving their lives, only to be left here in the dessert to die! Mike's point was this....If you have been led to a spiritual dessert, it is time to stop whining, and ask God what we should be learning from this. Well...Yesterday was a time of no water for me. I was leaving work at the church and all of the above as well as finances were weighing very very heavily on me. I started crying (thankfully I only had daniel with me... I think it would have freaked JJ out). We are not talking a small little tear running down your cheek...we are talking big tears from being overwhelmed. And I just cried out to God- I poured my heart out asking for the water I knew he wanted to provide to me. And you proably know what happened...just as in Exodus - he did just that. No joking or exagerating... within 30 seconds.. it was literally pouring rain on my car...after a little giggle (I know deep in my core God has a sense of humor)- I knew I had been answered. God sent me what I asked for. Now God knew that I was not literally asking for water...but was spiritually speaking of all of my troubles and feelings of being in the dessert right now. And you know what- he answered the rest as well. Jchon got paid for a website he had been working on, daniel is not as cranky, JJ is still being very 3, but today has not been quite as testing, and Jchon is feeling better. Amazing how much God wants to give us, but we don't ask... but I think that thought is a whole other post;-) So let me ask you....Got rain?

Day out with Thomas lots of pics

We had a really fun morning this morning. My parents treated us to the "Day out with Thomas". JJ had so much fun. Just a few shots of the day.

The boys both got new Thomas hats

All of us on the train

Daniel loved the bubbles;-)

On the train

And of course, they were so tired - they barely made it out of the parking lot!;-)
