Random thoughts that occur to me that I am sending out into the great void.

Dirty Hands clean your heart!

I often marvel at the way that God has created us. There is something so deeply satisfying about working with the earth! I weeded the yard and flower beds out front today for about 3 hours! Maybe it is because we are made from the earth, maybe it is our yearning to get back to the Garden of Eden? Even Jesus sought solice in the garden! There is something so humbling about it. It makes me feel closer to God to be closer physically to his creation. (TMI Warning...stop now if you do not want too much info on me:-) I really think if I could get away with it, I would be out there without the cumberson confines of clothes! I think both the neighbors and the HOA might take issue however..so for now I will just have bare hands and feet:~)

Will someone please tell me....

Will someone please tell me why it is a current neccesitty to have daylight savings time? I realize the past customs, and I know the talk of saving energy, but is it worth a full week of torture twice per year??? I know there are other parents of small children that will give an AMEN out there!:~) And for me too..(so tired!)

Encouragement:-)

The link for a touching Get Service Video is right here. It is from Pastor Mike's blog (get well soon Mike! We miss you but good job plugging in the clock!:~)

Also, my sister sent this story to me as encouragement. Thought it might be encouragement for some others out there!

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, "God! How could you do this to me?"

Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him!

"How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers.

"We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

The Moral of This Story:
It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering. Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.

March in Texas:-)

Well, it IS march in Texas...And in true Texas fashion...twice in one week.... 80 degrees one day, snow the next~ 2 days later same thing but in Denton- we got 7 inches of snow in one day...and of course it had all melted the next day;-), but that is the house in the snow... if you look closely- you can see jchon and JJ on the front porch waving!

And I promised that I would post the picture of the quilt I made for Polly (my wonderful midwife) when she got married a couple of weeks ago!

Speaking f Texas fashion:-)....Here is a picture Jchon got of the boys on my saddle and in our hats

And one last one of Daniel. He is really turning into quite the ham when I take out the camera.
