Random Thoughts

Random thoughts that occur to me that I am sending out into the great void.

Daniel has a toy that plays "Hello my Darling". This led to a large conversation with my dad and we were discussing how much warner brothers had enlightened our classical music knowledge (i.e. the barber of seville) and how much we both loved the dancing frog.....So I did a little google...Found out he has a name (Michigan J Frog), and that the cartoon clip is called "One froggy evening". So off to YouTube:-)...and here you go..little bit of nostalgia for those of us who are old enough to have seen growing pains and cosby show when they originally aired;-)

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one~ Leo J. Burke

It is amazing how 2 nights of almost 8 hours of sleep make you feel like a human again;-). Really life has been wonderful and we are all adjusting well. The boys are both adjusting very well to each other. Daniel is getting used to the noise and action of his brother, and JJ is loving showing him the ropes (see the picture of JJ "telling" daniel how to work his toy;-) I am amused at myself more and more lately. It is easy to forget that having children often allows us to see the world from a child's perspective. We were going through the car wash the other day. Apparently something I had not done in quite a while. It was the kind where you stay in the car and wash goes around you. I was overjoyed at the fact that the machine sprayed different colors of soap at the car. I think I got more of a kick out of it than my 2 year old!:-) It is also easy to forget when you are so immersed in being a mommy, wife, daughter and friend how important it is to do something you "want" to do (not just those things that need to be done~ which is where I find myself all to often). Tomorrow afternoon I get to go to the "Great American Scrapbook Convention" (www.greatamericanscrapbook.com). I won't have a huge amount of time or money, and I will have daniel...but I am still very excited to have some time and energy~both very rare right now~ for something I enjoy. I know I will feel energized and refreshed, and it is a good reminder to not let the neccesities of daily life overtake the opportunity for some fun! It is easy for me (and I think other moms) to rationalize why we don't have the time/can't take the time for ourselves occasionally. It is very good to remember Acts 3:19~ ...In order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. All good things come from Him, including times to renew ourselves in order that we will have the energy to continue to fight the good fight and hopefully finish well!
